Take a look at all the trees to find the tree that best suits what you wish to carve. For example, if you want to post a message to a bride and groom, you would choose the wedding tree.

Once you have found the tree you want to carve a message on, choose where on that tree you want to carve your message. Hover over the tree with your mouse to find a free spot. A green square will indicate that you can carve a message there. Click the green square to bring up the uncarved message. Then click "Start Carving" to begin carving that message. To help you search, you can click the "HINT" button at the lower right of each tree's page. This will show where other users have posted their messages.

Before you can carve your message it will ask you to log in, if you are not logged in already. It only takes a few seconds to create an account, if you don't have one yet.

Once you are logged in, you can begin carving your message. First, you'll be asked to choose what kind of message you wish to create. You can choose between the...

• Short "Carved" Message with up to 400 characters. This message will display when hovering over the tree. $2.75

• Long Message. This includes a short message with a link to an even longer message. You can write as much as you like in the long message, and you can even add a photo.

When you have chosen the message type that fits what you want, click continue. You'll be ask to read the terms of service. If you have agreed to terms of service, you will be taken to the designing page. Here, you can customize and write your message. The first group will customize what your message looks like, your options are...

• Tree Mark - This will mark the tree where your message is with the icon you choose.
• Location - If you chose the long message, you can choose a number of styles for your long message.
• Text Alignment - You can justify your message to the left, center, or right.
• Text Size - The text or font size you want to use for your message.
• Text Color - The color you want your message to be.

Next, if you're carving this message for someone, you can enter their e-mail in the "E-Mail" fields under "Send to family and friends." After you have carved your message, we will notify your recipients that you carved them a new message for them. We will send them an e-mail that gives them the exact URL or location of the message. If you need this sent to more than 4 e-mails, just click "Enter Another E-Mail" to create more e-mail fields. You will also receive an e-mail yourself.

If you chose a long message with a photo or PDF, you upload your attachment where it says "Upload Attachment". Just click "Browse", and open the file you wish to upload. If your photo is too large, we'll resize it for you. To switch your attachment at any time, just click "Browse" and open the new file you want to use.

Now on to composing your message. Just enter your "Message Title", this will appear at the top of your message.

Then, you have the option to carve your message anonymously (without showing other users who carved the message). To do this, just check "Check here if you do not want to display your user name in your message."

After that, it's time to write your short message. Above the short message text box tells you how many characters you have left. If you chose a long message, just type your long message in the text box right after the short message. Here you can type as much as you like.

When you're done designing your message, just click "Save and Preview." This will take you to the preview page.

When you click "Save and Preview", it saves your work on the website. So, if you don't have time to finish your message, you can close our website, then log back in at any time and continue working on your message.

You can also move your message before the final approval by finding another uncarved spot and "Start Carving" it. We will ask you what you want to do with your old message, and one of the options is to move it to your new location.

The preview page will show you exactly what your message will look like when you're finished. If you made a mistake, don't worry, you can go back to the designing page by clicking "Back to Change Message."

When everything looks good, click "Continue to Checkout."

One last time, we'll confirm that your changes are correct. When you are ready, click "Order." If you decided to post a pdf file (the only message that has a nominal fee involved), you will be taken to PayPal's website to make your payment. It's quick and safe, and your entire transaction takes place on PayPal's secure website. PayPal accepts all major credit cards, and if you already have an account there, you can use money from your account.
